克里斯汀伤害 joins SMU 戴德曼法学院 as the inaugural Alan R. : Centennial Chair in Corporate, 伙伴关系, Business, Securities Law. Professor Hurt comes to SMU Law from Brigham Young University Law School where she was the George Sutherland Chair and Professor of Law. 

Professor Hurt joined the BYU faculty as the Rex J. 莫林·E. 2014年罗林森教授, she served as Associate Dean for 教师 and Curriculum, then as Associate Dean for Academic Projects. 在那之前, she was a Professor of Law and Director of the Program in Business Law and Policy at the University of Illinois College of Law.

在伊利诺伊大学任教之前, Professor Hurt taught at Marquette University Law School and the University of Houston. As a teaching fellow at Texas Tech University School of Law, she co-pioneered a system of online legal citation exercises, now the Interactive Citation Workbook and its related web-based program on the LexisNexis website.

Professor Hurt was a member of the National Adjudicatory Council of FINRA, which hears appeals regarding broker-dealer and registered representative violations of FINRA and SEC rules.

Before entering law teaching, Professor Hurt practiced corporate law in Houston at Baker Botts L.L.P., Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. As a first-year law student, she co-founded the Texas Journal of Women and the Law.

Professor Hurt's teaching and research focuses on 证券 regulation, 企业所得税, 微型融资, 侵权行为, 商业协会. Alan :教授, for whom the endowed Centennial Chair position is named, taught at SMU 戴德曼法学院 for more than 60 years and was a prolific author. His legal writings on 企业所得税, 伙伴关系, 证券, commodities have been relied upon in more than 500 judicial opinions, including 10 in the United 州 Supreme Court.
