Applicants pursuing a graduate-level degree program are eligible to be considered for a financial-need scholarship. Requirements for eligibility are: 1) complete the 联邦学生资助 (FAFSA) application and 2) upload your Student Aid Report (SAR) or EFC Estimate to your SMU application. Since SMU's graduate program application typically takes a little more time to complete than the FAFSA, you are encouraged to submit the FAFSA 之前 应用程序. The sooner the FAFSA is processed, the sooner we can determine your need for tuition assistance and find scholarship support for you. Just to assure you, FAFSA information is never used in the admission decision process. Please know that completion of the FAFSA does not require you to accept any loans through federal aid.

Students who are admitted to a degree program and enroll for a minimum of 6 hours in any one term may be eligible to apply for federal financial aid. Applicants may submit forms to financial aid 之前 being accepted into the program. Students interested in applying for Direct Loans from the federal 政府ernment can submit the Free Application for 联邦学生资助 (FAFSA) online at http://studentaid.政府. The priority filing deadline for the summer term is March 1, 秋季学期是4月1日, and spring term is November 1.
